Desert Hills Lodge
Perched on a rocky outcrop above the Namib, Desert Hills Lodge looks out over a desert that seems to stretch past the edge of the world. This is not a stopover on the way to Sossusvlei: it's a place to sit still long enough to watch the light change, the shadows move across the dunes, and the sky fill with more stars than you knew existed.

The Setting at Desert Hills
Desert Hills sits where the Naukluft Mountains give way to the great red dunes of the Namib, one of the oldest deserts on earth. The lodge takes its cues from the San people who once lived on these plains, reading the land by its water, its light, and its silence.
There is little here to distract from the desert itself. Days are shaped by the sun. Sharp and white at midday, soft and gold as it drops toward the dunes. Evenings gather around the fire pit, glass of wine in hand, watching the last colour drain from the mountains. At night, with no light for miles, the sky becomes the main event.
Sossusvlei and Sesriem are close enough for a day's exploring and far enough to still feel like wilderness. Return in the evening, and the desert is yours again.
Desert Hills Chalets
Each of the eighteen chalets at Desert Hills stands apart, built into the stone and shaped by it; thatched roofs, dark wood, and thick walls that keep the heat of the day outside where it belongs. Inside, the mood is quiet and unfussy: crisp white linen, a private veranda, a view that needs no further decoration.
Wake up facing the desert. Fall asleep to a silence broken only by the occasional call of a jackal somewhere out on the plains. Each chalet is its own small retreat: private, self-contained, built for rest rather than show.
