Grand Hotel Bellevue
Just off the bustle of Paddington, on the quiet side of leafy Norfolk Square, Grand Hotel Bellevue feels less like a hotel and more like a London home you’ve been invited into. A listed Victorian townhouse, reimagined as the city residence of an eccentric, well-travelled couple. The perfect place to slow London down to walking pace.

Rooms
Sixty rooms spread across five floors, each one dressed in dark wood furniture made by hand and colours that feel warm rather than loud. Bathrooms are tiled in alternating green, orange and blue, stocked with Floris London toiletries. Ask for a room at the front and you’ll wake to Norfolk Square through tall windows, light filtering through the trees. At the top of the list sits the Grand Norfolk Suite, with high ceilings and French windows over the square. This is a hotel for lingering.
Gym & main areas
Grand Hotel Bellevue keeps things deliberately small. Mornings start in the Green Room, a dining room wrapped in deep green, where breakfast is served at an easy pace before the city gets its hands on your day. For those who want to move before they explore, a 24-hour fitness studio sits tucked away in the house. But the real facility here is the address itself. Paddington station is a few minutes’ walk away, Hyde Park is just around the corner, and the Elizabeth line puts the rest of London within easy reach.
Pondicherry Bar
Across the hall from the lobby, the Pondicherry Bar is where the house comes alive. Named after the Indian city, it wears its colours like a spice rack: paprika walls, turmeric stools, cumin banquettes and cinnamon-toned furniture. Tapestries by New York designer Emily Bode hang on the walls, adding a handmade warmth to the room. Coffee in the afternoon, cocktails as the light drops over Norfolk Square. Order a drink before heading out for dinner, and don’t be surprised if you end up staying for another.
